Just want to share this short flash...
Sometimes we may not understand the reasoning behind what God ask us to do.
Like in the short clip, God ask the man to jump. The man thought God was asking him to jump to the next platform which is so far.
But God's intention was for him to just jump downwards, where there's a stairs to climb up and get away safely.
Watching this clip reminds me of the many roads that I'll be on and how it is important to act on what God has says and simply have faith.
Also note that it was only when God says to jump, then the man jumped. Never take the next step until God has given the go-ahead sign.
Blessed week ahead...
God always had a plan for us; even before I was saved.
At my last job, which paved the way for me to meet Catherine who invited me to NLCC on Good Friday. I accepted Christ.
Last December I left my job without securing a new job.
I knew I needed great faith to trust in God that He'll provide.
However, my parents were encouraging me to take up any job offer that came my way. I did not feel comfortable with this. So I continued to pray and even blessed each resume that was sent off.
One day, while on my way to church, I received a call from a job agency which I didn't even remember sending my resume to. The lady told me about this position which sounded quite interesting, and I gave the go-ahead to forward my resume to the company. And within 2 days, I got a call to go down for an interview.
Before I went for any interviews, I asked for God's Will to be done for this interview.
If the job's for me, then it's mine; and if it's not, it's OK too.
For this particular interview, it was with 4 interviewers (Stress!!).
Despite me being a bit nervous, it went rather well.
However, during the interview, when asked if I had any questions for them, my answer was no. After I left the interview room, I wanted to kick myself for not asking any questions.
Anyway, what's done is done, and I told myself, "If this is where God wants me to be, I'll get it."
Two days later, I got a call from them! They offered me the position! And they are paying me at the expected salary that I put down. This figure was one that God puts in my heart. For all my previous work, my salary difference from one job to another was just around 15% increase.
And this figure that God gave me was a whooping increase of 42.8571%!
Praise God I didn't accept any job offers previously.
I just signed the contract and I was in for more surprises!
For my 2-year contract, there's no penalty if I leave before the 2 year is up!
And...there's no probation period; so once I start work, I'm going to enjoy all the benefits (pro-rated) of course. And this would mean that I can get their year end bonus too (pro-rated too). WOW.
I'm still entitled to OT pay should I need to work overtime.
And... I get 4 more days of annual leave from my previous work.
Just a note of encouragement:
Know that God always always has a plan for us.
For He says: "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you." - Jeremiah 29:11-12
Prayer is really, really powerful. Even at times when you don't feel like praying and don't feel like talking to God, it is actually the time you need to talk to Him even more, to hear Him clearly, for His Guidance. Because He'll always always there for us.
"I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you." Psalm 32:8
Sometimes we may not understand why certain things happen that way.
We just have to flow as God guides. Prior to this job offer, I actually had another offer but I did not accept it as it just didn't feel right. Although I felt insecure about whether I'd be able to get another job, I just had to reject it.
Praise God I didn't accept it. I would have lost out on this wonderful opportunity!
God really knows what's good for us. He even knows us better than ourselves, so I know that this new job is something that I can handle, but there will definitely be something that I'll need to learn during my stay with the company.
All praises to God for this wonderful blessing. Be on the look out for God's miracles everyday!!
